The Madera Group, Tosh Berman and Amrou Manaseer’s hospitality group behind Toca Madera and the rapidly expanding Tocaya Organica, has added yet another addition to its growing family of restaurants: M|O|M. Short for Modern Organic Mexican, the new concept is different from the rest as there is no brick and mortar location. Instead, M|O|M relies on PostMates and UberEats to deliver its fresh fare.
Expect an extensive menu of tacos, taquitos, burritos, quesadillas, empanadas, and salads, with plenty of options for both meat eaters and vegans. The plan is to sell the all-organic dishes between 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily.
This isn’t the first delivery service-only concept to pop-up in LA, as the growing reliance on delivery services are causing restaurateurs around town to rethink the pricy front-of-house component of food service. Nguyen and Thi Tran were early adopters of this idea when they made their cuisine available to the masses via UberEats after shuttering their restaurant Starry Kitchen back in 2015. More recently, options like Secret Lasagna and delivery-friendly Cosa Buona in Echo Park have been taking chef-driven takeaway food to new heights.
Says The Madera Group CEO Tosh Berman, "It’s no secret, technology is driving the way we all live and increasingly, the way we eat. Delivery services like Postmates and UberEATS have already proven to be hugely successful for our Tocaya Organica and Toca Madera concepts, and this is one of the major reasons we wanted to create M|O|M.”
