sbe’s subsidiary Disruptive Restaurant Group will debut the third location of Cleo on West Third Street on Saturday, December 2. It was a speedy turnaround of the former Churchill space in The Orlando Hotel, with the hospitality group announcing the new location only in March of this year.
The new 6,000 square foot restaurant follows on the heels of the enduring Cleo locations in Hollywood and in L.A. Live Downtown. Expect a similar menu of eastern and southern Mediterranean dishes, with heavy influence stemming from executive chef Danny Elmaleh’s Israeli-Japanese heritage. Cleo fans will find the restaurant’s popular staples like the brussels sprouts and spicy cigars alongside new dishes like duck matzo ball soup and meatball tagine with soft egg. Also on the menu is a selection of larger, family-style plates such as the whole charcoal-grilled branzino, snapper seared with Calabrian chili, and Wagyu flat iron steak.

A vibrant interior marked by Mediterranean-inspired patterns and teal and earth-tone hues comes by way of DesignAgency. Perhaps the most unique element of the design is the massive seven-foot mirrored ball that hangs over the outdoor patio, reflecting the activity taking place below.
Cleo Third Street isn’t the only expansion of the rapidly growing brand, with the restaurant group recently opening locations in New York and the Bahamas. Cleo will continue its expansion with an upcoming outlet slated for Kuwait in 2018, with seven further locations opening around the globe by 2021.
