Bagels and Platform
Upstart bagel company Pop’s Bagels is coming to Platform for its first official public pop-up. The company has previously just been doing private events and catering as it prepares for a more permanent space, so this is the first time expectant eaters can try the company’s creations. After all, they’re aiming for “a new kind of bagel.”
The Pop’s Bagels launch is being done in conjunction with the Platform’s holiday market on Saturday. Pop’s will only be offering homemade cream cheese with their baked bagels, starting from 10 a.m. and running until they’re out of stock.
LA with Avila
Wes Avila talked about his favorite eats with Travel and Leisure, shouting out neighborhoods from Boyle Heights to Glendale to Koreatown.
Lunch at Kato
West LA’s Kato is bringing back its popular lunch offerings for a few days next week, including their signature fried chicken sandwich. Get ready for lines.
Favreau and Chang and Choi
Jon Favreau, he of Chef fame, is cooking up something with Roy Choi and David Chang apparently. The trio took to Favreau’s own Instagram page to tease some sort of upcoming collaboration. The questions is: What exactly? More Cubanos?
Alhambra ramen
The SGV Tribune took a trip recently to Kopan in Alhambra, and walked away impressed with the restaurant’s ramen offerings. The place is actually part of a chain of semi-related restaurants across Southern California, but at the SGV outlet it’s all about noodles.
Now Serving x Night + Market
Kris Yenbamroong is talking it up at Now Serving on Monday, discussing his new cookbook with co-author Garrett Snyder and Jason Stewart of podcast The Stew. RSVPs are strongly encouraged.
