One of Charleston’s best pizza spots left this past summer to make way for Los Angeles. La Morra Pizzeria, which operated mainly out of a wood-fired pizza trailer, comes from Zach Swemle and partner Marlee Blodgett. The duo’s sold-out events and pop-ups made waves in South Carolina before they decided to head west.

From December 14 to 16, they’ll be bringing the pizza rig to Tabula Rasa in Thai Town, the laid-back wine bar along Hollywood Blvd. They plan to make regular stops at Tabula Rasa, a boon for Eastside pizza fans. During their upcoming three day stint, Tabula Rasa will offer some pizza-specific wines to pair alongside the pies.

La Morra does a natural fermentation and tends to make a classic Neapolitan-style pizza. They’ve spent a good amount of the last few months eating pizza around town and seeing how their pies stack up. Their regular pizza lineup includes a margherita, calabrese with salami and peppers, and pomodoro with cherry tomatoes and smoked mozzarella.
