Monday is a burger party

There’s another big new burger pop-up coming to Los Angeles, this time by the KronnerBurger clan. It’s all going down at Shibumi in Downtown on Monday, with plans for chef/owner Chris Kronner to flip patties alongside David Schlosser, who will be doing sake pairings and other fun stuff.

This is not the first time KronnerBurger has come for LA. The Oakland-based team has previously popped up at Sqirl and Bar Bandini, as they potentially eye space for a Los Angeles brick and mortar location down the line.

Shuk it off

There’s a new Israeli street food pop-up coming to Santa Monica as of tomorrow, says LA Magazine. It’s called Shuk, and tickets for the limited ten-day run are open now.

Queso greatness

The LA Times is on the case of the queso truck, a newish rig that rides around town selling all sorts of drippy, melty cheese. Queso can be a surprisingly hard thing to find in Los Angeles (at least outside of a few purely Texan places), so it’s no wonder the food truck is getting so much positive attention.

Good for Noubar

Noubar Yessayan is in as the overall pastry chef for the entire Lucques Group. That means the longtime pastry lead will oversee production for Lucques, AOC, Tavern, and the group’s related portfolio of restaurants and catering opportunities.

An expansion, of sorts

Highland Park bar The Hermosillo is extending its hours, opening up for lunch on Thursdays as of tomorrow.
