As has been heavily predicted already, San Francisco pastry giant Mr. Holmes Bakehouse isn’t content to simply sit in their Highland Park space and let the Cruffin-loving lines come to them. Instead, they’re dropping a surprise new location in the thick of Orange County.
The slim new service counter will land inside the former Drinkbar at Union Market in Tustin. The big mixed-use retail and restaurant property already features names like Portola Coffee Roasters, and now will be bringing in one of the best modern pastry companies around.
As you can see from the below rendering, this new iteration won’t carry the same footprint as the Highland Park one, but should still draw massive crowds thanks to the company’s off-kilter flavors (they’re currently doing a croissant with sushi baked inside) and Instagram-friendly croissant-muffin hybrids known as Cruffins.

This won’t be the only expansion for Mr. Holmes Bakehouse, either. The company continues to plot a storefront in the Larchmont neighborhood of Los Angeles, and continues to ramp up for even more wholesale accounts around greater Southern California to boot. Expect the Tustin location to wrap up soon, with an official opening sometime in mid to late February.
