Casual Concepts Flip in Pasadena as The Stand Steps in for TLT Food

Burgers, hot dogs, and more for Pasadena

The Stand
Farley Elliott is the Senior Editor at Eater LA and the author of Los Angeles Street Food: A History From Tamaleros to Taco Trucks. He covers restaurants in every form, from breaking news to the culture, people, and history that surrounds LA's dining landscape.

Growing fast casual brand The Stand is expanding, this time taking over the former TLT Food space in Pasadena. It’s a truncated run for the former food truck (TLT stands for The Lime Truck, after all) brick and mortar, and will make for a quick flip by the Stand team.

For those unfamiliar, The Stand is a fast casual favorite that has tended to make its bones in suburban areas with lower rents and high visibility, turning out a menu of comfort food favorites like hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and craft beer. They have outlets in Northridge, Encino, Irvine, and elsewhere.

Ironically enough, The Stand actually vacated Westwood back in 2012 to make room for none other than...TLT Food. Now the flip has been reversed along El Molino Avenue in Pasadena, with TLT lasting just a matter of months before their scheduled shutter on February 17. With a new coat of paint and some other small changes, The Stand should be ready to ride at that address by March 1.
