It’s going to be worth the road trip

Long-fried Southern food fans have continually clamored to get their very own Cracker Barrel on the West Coast, but for years the Tennessee-founded company has politely declined. Now they’re showing off plans to come to Victorville, CA, a 125,000-strong high desert city en route to Las Vegas.

Sure it’s not Burbank or the South Bay, but for some true LA-based fans of the franchise a road trip to Victorville is not entirely out of the question, especially when you consider the alternative of driving to somewhere like Arizona instead. The city of Victorville actually showed off the plans for the place themselves in a Facebook post detailing the new location.

According to CBS LA, this new Cracker Barrel will land on Victorville’s so-called “Restaurant Row” along Amargosa Road, not far from the freeway and all that visibility. It’ll truly be the first new Cracker Barrel location in California in many years, though in the past there have been some scattered locations across the state that ultimately fell by the wayside.

No official word on when Cracker Barrel will open, but with the city still being in the planning stages, look for it to take a while.
