If you didn’t already know, California’s recent passing of Prop 64 at the end of 2016 made the adult use of marijuana legal. That has lead to a slew of chefs capitalizing on cannabis in everything from cocktails to tasting menus, and opened up an entirely new culinary world to be explored locally.
Now Kris Morningstar, the former chef of the recently shuttered Terrine, and Sevan Abdessian, chef of the restaurant now known as 51 Tavern, have partnered up to share their love of sticky green in the form of a supper club dubbed The Gathering. On Monday, February 20 at the former Recess restaurant in Highland Park, 24 diners will be able to experience a five-course pot-infused tasting menu. The dinner even comes with wine pairings for your cross-faded pleasure.
Tickets are $250, and reservations can be made at info@TheGatheringLA.com. Full menu below:
Aleppo pepper crusted hamachi, jalapeno, garden citrus supremes, micro greens, pot ponzu
Hand rolled cavatelli verde, lamb ragout, olives, calabrian chiles, pecorino
Roasted parsnips, beet-rose hip reduction, pomegranate molasses, zaatar, smoked labneh
Dry aged duck breast, pistachio-sativa puree, tokyo turnips, herb-tangerine mostarda, pea tendrils
