Vaka Burgers Expands From Boyle Heights to Bright New Beverly Blvd Address

They’re going to be expanding the menu too

Things are looking up for the Vaka Burgers crew, as the Boyle Heights beef and bun team has officially signed on the dotted line for a second, more expansive location. If all goes well, the idea is to land a sophomore outlet along Beverly Boulevard in Rampart Village, just east of Koreatown and north of Westlake.

The team has been mostly mum about the specifics of their expansion, though they did hint at the upcoming expansion on Instagram a few days back.

As you can see from the video, so far the 1,500 square foot storefront inside the Beverly Building is rather raw, though the tall ceilings and brick walls already give the address a classic vibe. The plan, it seems, is to make a more customer-friendly iteration of the current Vaka Burgers and just call it Vaka, with an open kitchen, actual dining room seating as well as a patio, plus beer and wine sometime down the line.

The new building will also allow chef Aaron Perez to expand into breakfast comfort food favorites and work a brunch crowd to boot, with the occasional pop-in from chef friends too. The space should also give them an edge over their existing counter service option in Boyle Heights, which has a strong local following but hasn’t yet penetrated the larger Los Angeles market.

As for an opening date, look for something in early to mid-summer, most likely.
