This year’s Bocuse D’or, a celebrated culinary competition hosted every two years in Lyon, marked the first time the United States took home the gold. Chefs Mathew Peters, Harrison Turone, and Philip Tessier beat frontrunners like Norway, Iceland, and France. And now Republique is throwing a massive party for the winners, hosted by Walter Manzke and Thomas Keller (Bouchon, The French Laundry) on Monday, March 13.
Manzke’s especially excited about throwing this Bocuse D’or celebration because he’s convinced it’s going to inspire a new generation of culinary excellence for the U.S. The event runs from 7 to 9:30 p.m, with tickets sold for $75 that will include cocktails and canapes from Republique, plus bites by a pretty impressive set of chefs in LA: Timothy Hollingsworth of Otium, Charles Namba of Tsubaki, Tetsu Yahagi of Spago, Josiah Citrin of Melisse, Valentina Batture of Petty Cash, Rory Hermann, and Eric Bost.
If you’re a fan of America’s rise in the international culinary scene, this is a great chance to meet Thomas Keller and his winning Bocuse D’or team, and see the gold statue they brought home in person. Tickets to the event are available here.
