Looks like Badmaash has decided to expand. The colorful Downtown casual Indian restaurant has been playing to such big crowds over the past couple of years they recently had to expand into brunch just to spread the foot traffic out even more, and now have plans to jump into one of biggest walking markets in the city: Fairfax.

A call to the Mahendro family confirms the second outlet, though they demurred on discussing whether or not this will be a true second Badmaash or one of several new associated concepts they’ve discussed publicly (on their podcast The Super Amazing Restaurant Show, for example).

What is known is the address: 418 N. Fairfax Ave., where 88 Chinese & Sushi has sat for years. Badmaash is taking over and bringing beer and wine with them, ultimately setting up shop next door to Jon & Vinny’s and right across the street from Animal. Talk about some great frontage.

There’s still plenty of moving parts to this one so expect more info down the line, with an ideal opening coming towards the end of the year. Add in fried chicken from Sweet Chick coming nearby soon, and suddenly things are hotter than ever (if you can believe it) on Fairfax.
