They’re taking the former Churchill space at the Orlando Hotel

Apparently The Orlando Hotel knew what they were doing all along, announcing only last week that they’d be shuffling off six-year-old restaurant The Churchill in favor of something new. That apparently means Cleo, the sbe-backed Mediterranean restaurant with big expansion plans.

Cleo has emerged from the sbe/Disruptive Restaurant Group world as a clear favorite for ownership, and continues to look for ways to expand domestically and abroad. The move to West Third Street will offer some stiff new competition though, as the group’s previous two locations in Hollywood and at L.A. Live have been more content to play to the tourist crowds.

The Orlando Hotel signed on with Cleo only recently, and will be revamping the 6,000 square foot space for an arrival later this year. The restaurant will act as the all-day hub for guests of the hotel (and will also provide room service) while continuing to use the attached takeaway window to sell fresh pressed juices to boot. No word on an official opening date, but it’s going to be a little while.
