Things are wrapping up at Mixed Company in Silver Lake, with the latest check-in on the all-day space next to The Black Cat showing it to be just weeks (or less) away. The building itself has gotten a rad new paint job that you can see below, and despite the covered windows its clear that the room is just about ready for service.

To catch up anyone unfamiliar with the project: Mixed Company is a massive new buildout that took the place of a longtime laundromat next door to the iconic Black Cat on Sunset Boulevard. The 120-seater has been in the works since 2015 or so, but only recently ramped up to its current state. The open kitchen is finished, the up front bar is looking lovely, and there’s lots of light wood to make the place glow.

To that end, Mixed Company is hiring up for a slew of positions, including their coffee program, which hints at what the future could look like for the restaurant. Pegged as a casual modern Middle Eastern restaurant, Mixed Company is apparently going to be up and running for three square meals a day plus brunch on weekends, with a service model swap (from fast casual in the AM to sit-down table service in the PM) between lunch and dinner (though they won’t actually take any hours off between services).

Interested in more? You can follow along with Mixed Company’s Instagram page, though they have yet to post much except an exterior shot of the building. Still, insiders say an opening in early April is the most likely scenario.
