In today’s internet-thing-you-have-to-see moment: Check out this Instagram page called Eat See Repeat. Basically it’s just photos of food in places, but when you notice the specific dishes — many of them iconic to Los Angeles — and the backgrounds of the images, you start to get a sense pretty quickly how insane this whole endeavor is.

The premise is about as simple as it gets, yet ends up being insanely complex. Take for example the most recent below shot:

That’s the famous key lime pie from Fishing With Dynamite in the South Bay, except the background is the busy (and beautiful) World Trade Center train terminal. Not a crumb looks out of place, and the folks who run the currently anonymous account claim it’s definitely not a photoshop job.

Okay, so maybe you can correctly protect a delicate dessert during a cross-country flight, but what about this still-fresh-looking lobster roll from Son of a Gun making an appearance in Austin?

And that’s far from all. Scroll through the page and you’ll find the Bay Cities Godmother sandwich enjoying a nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge, and even an In-N-Out burger (with fries) taking in the Azadi Tower in Tehran, Iran. Eater reached out to the folks behind the Instagram account, but so far hasn’t heard back.
