Farley Elliott is the Senior Editor at Eater LA and the author of Los Angeles Street Food: A History From Tamaleros to Taco Trucks. He covers restaurants in every form, from breaking news to the culture, people, and history that surrounds LA's dining landscape.

Nearly three years after announcing itself as the next tenant to follow in the former Red Medicine space, The Flats has finally arrived. Chef/owner Kyle Schutte is working the kitchen now, following a short friends and family stint that took place last weekend.

Now the restaurant is running lunch through dinner service from the corner address just east of La Cienega on the southeastern reaches of Beverly Hills. You can find menus up online officially now too, from the $8 baguette with emulsified bone marrow to the salads, cured meats, and cocktails. The namesake dish, flatbreads, include a $12 margarita option and a heartier $15 pulled pork variety with potato puree and manchego cheese.
