Chef, author, and TV host Ayesha Curry is coming to Los Angeles this weekend for a round of fun at the University of Southern California. She’ll be setting up a cooking demonstration on Saturday as part of the Los Angeles Times Festival of Book’s ongoing food programming initiatives.

Curry will be taking the stage on Saturday, April 22 at 2 p.m. for a cooking demonstration using recipes from her book The Seasoned Life. She’ll also likely be taking fan questions and all that, so if you want in it’s best to try and get there early.

This year’s Festival of Books will also provide a ton of other big culinary names throughout the day, including Helene and Jacqueline An, Wes Avila making tacos alongside author Bill Esparza (who also contributes to Eater LA), and Jessica Koslow from Sqirl, who will be cooking from her own book Everything I Want to Eat.

The further rise of the culinary side of the Festival of Books (which was already a core part of what the program has done) speaks to just how mainstream restaurants, chefs, and food media has become. There’s a reason, after all, that plenty of folks have started traveling to Coachella primarily for the food, instead of the music. Head to the festival website directly for tickets.
