This New Torrance Eatery Checks All the Neighborhood Restaurant Boxes

Local Kitchen Tavern is a place for craft cocktails and kids menus

It isn’t too often that we hear of new restaurants opening outside of the Beach Cities in the South Bay. Revitalizing the quaint community that is Old Torrance is Local Kitchen, which opened on April 18.

The restaurant is the work of newly formed Altitude Restaurant Group, a partnership between industry vets Jim Krohn and John Kulacki, and seems to check all the boxes required for a neighborhood eatery. There’s a warm, family-friendly dining room, sports-playing TVs, a full bar, and extensive menu with a little something for everyone. Is there a kids menu? You’d better believe it.

On the over 40-item menu is comfort food classics that include burgers, tacos, steak, fish, pastas, meatloaf, and chicken and waffles. Washing it all down are cocktails and 16 craft beers from an extensive bar.

Local Kitchen is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 9 p.m. on Sundays.
