Taco Bell is set to start accepting reservations for an intimate tasting menu experience at their corporate location in Irvine, CA, which means tasting menus at regular restaurants are probably no longer cool.
According to People Magazine of all places, the experience will take place inside the corporate office’s own private test kitchen, and will offer room for only 32 guests at a time. Once inside, guests will be offered totally new spins on some of Taco Bell’s more classic fare, set across a five-course meal.
Honestly, despite the gimmicky nature of it all, there are true hardcore Taco Bell (and fast food in general adherents) that would probably love to see how the stuff they love gets made. This is Orange County after all, where a man successfully sued Del Taco to win the rights to long-gone fast food franchise Naugles — and is now re-expanding the brand nationwide.
To help get guests even more excited, Taco Bell cut this hip promo for the dinners below:
The first Taco Bell tasting menu experience goes live on May 19, though you can start to reserve seats on OpenTable on May 5. There’s no indication at this time that the dinners will be an every-week sorta thing, but they are expected to continue with some regularity down the line.
