Looks like a big new player is potentially coming to the Beverly Hilton hotel soon, by the name of Sushi Park. The nondescript mostly omakase option in West Hollywood is a favorite amongst discerning sushi types, and routinely lists among the best places for the freshest fish anywhere in the city.

Now rumor has it that they’re jumping into a basement space inside the luxe Beverly Hilton, with a proposed opening sometime mid-summer. An email in to the hotel received a fairly middling “no comment” back, but word from a number of sources at different levels say it’s happening after all.

The decision to allegedly bring such a high quality tenant like Sushi Park into the Beverly Hilton would certainly be well-timed, considering the expansive new Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills that’s opening in early June with famous chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten at the helm. There’s lots of other nearby competition these days in the Japanese food space too, including Sushi Ginza Onodera in West Hollywood, the awesome Aburiya Raku, and the stunning Tempura Endo — and that’s to say nothing of mainstays like Hamasaku further west. Truly this is a great time to be enjoying sushi in Los Angeles, and the hopeful expansion of Sushi Park should only help.
