Great news for Eastside coffee drinkers today, as Eater has learned exclusively that Go Get Em Tiger will take over some primo real estate along North Figueroa in Highland Park, with plans to pour drinks and serve food all day long. The coffee shop is part of the larger Silver Lake Wine / Matt Molina building project along that stretch, which should massively remake much of the food and beverage side of things when it all comes together.
Much like their Los Feliz flagship, this Highland Park space will offer a food menu by way of Ria Dolly Barbosa. She’s the mind behind the company’s expanded breakfast and lunch profile over the past year or so, and has been described by LA Weekly critic Besha Rodell as “one of LA’s most promising young chefs” for her creative takes on comfort food and Filipino flavors.
Reached by phone, Go Get Em Tiger co-owner Kyle Glanville says that this location will be a touch smaller than their Los Feliz location, coming in at around 1,000 square feet. The food menu will be predictably pared down as a result, but will still have many of the favorites that have fans flocking to the current patio-heavy favorite on Hollywood Boulevard. Glanville says the shop will also be committed to keeping things local (he lives in Highland Park himself), and will seek to hire as much as possible from within the neighborhood.

The team has had the lease on the Highland Park space for some time now, but construction has not really begun yet in earnest. That means the build out will take a while, naturally, but a fall arrival is entirely likely.
In the meantime there are plenty of other places to get your morning fix, from La Monarca Bakery to Civil Coffee to Kindness and Mischief. Kitchen Mouse is a weekend mainstay for brunch food just up the street, and soon enough breakfast taco heroes HomeState will be hand-making tortillas not far away too. It’s a good time to be up early in Highland Park.
