It’s been smooth sailing for Top Chef contestant Alex Eusebio’s Mexican restaurant Cascabel. The Toluca Lake eatery that opened back in 2014 has become a staple in the Burbank-adjacent neighborhood, now known for its bacon guacamole and crispy lobster tacos.
That means it was high time to open another outlet, which is exactly what the chef is doing with his new, more casual concept Cascabel Taco Shop. As opposed to the sit-down flagship, the upcoming restaurant is takeout only, with a focus on breakfast, tacos, and burritos. Expect bolillos, pulled pork pibil, those signature lobster tacos, and duck confit tacos when it opens some time in May.
