Chef Phillip Frankland Lee’s next Encino eatery, Frankland’s Crab & Co., is set to officially open on Friday. The upscale casual seafood option looks to play fast and loose with the ocean, all in an unassuming strip mall space that’s been given loads of sunlight and greenery.

The straightforward menu offers everything from by-the-pound fish to king crab legs and lobster. You’ll also be able to get classics like fish & chips and oysters, as well as a fried chicken roll and lobster-buttered corn on the cob. The full menu is below, including room for wine and on-tap beers that can be served by the pitcher, plus small spiked drinks by Devon Espinosa made boozy with hotel-sized mini bottles of alcohol.

The plan is to turn this Frankland’s into a precursor for a wider expansion, with a second location already heading into the Montecito Inn in Santa Barbara this summer. The Jordan Olson look is that of a more colorful Maine-style seafood shack, and is offered as a complement to Lee and partner/pastry chef Margarita Kallas-Lee’s existing Encino portfolio, which also includes Scratch Bar and Woodley Proper. Frankland’s Crab & Co. opens Friday, keeping daily hours from 11 a.m. to midnight, with no reservations taken.
