San Gabriel Valley favorite Tasty Noodle House appears to be ready for expansion, landing a prime new location right along West Third Street in the heart of Los Angeles. The Southern California collection of Chinese food restaurants currently enjoys outlets in San Gabriel, Chino Hills, and Cerritos, but should seriously establish itself among a more Western (both culturally and geographically) clientele with this bright new corner space.
The forthcoming Los Angeles Tasty Noodle House hits in the former Panini Cafe on West Third, which only shut down a few weeks ago. Now the windows are papered over, the patio is empty, and there’s only a sign hanging in the window to let customers know about a forthcoming Panini Cafe coming to the Westfield Century City soon. Yes, they plug the ample parking.
However, an ABC license posted around the corner tips the name Tasty Noodle House, a fact confirmed by digging into the city filing paperwork on business partner Zheng Yi Pan, who is attached to this space as well as others in Chino Hills and elsewhere. The good news is that this means Tasty Noodle House will look to not only sell Chinese pork buns and other favorites, but beer and wine to boot.
The move to bring a Tasty Noodle House to this stretch of Third Street marks another notching the growing willingness of San Gabriel Valley concepts to come west. Rowland Heights destination Little Highness Bao started quietly serving in Beverly Hills earlier this year, while out in Westwood Northern Cafe has been doing big business as well. Jonathan Gold himself praised the fare at Tasty Noodle House a few years ago, so with a little luck — and some time — things could turn out very, very well for anyone who loves the franchise, but hates the drive out to San Gabriel Valley.
