Patina Restaurant Group Reaches Out to the Community With a New Downtown Café

A partnership with reclaimed food organization LA Kitchen

LA Kitchen

The massive culinary operation that is Patina Restaurant Group is yet again expanding its empire with the addition of Rise Up! Café in Downtown. The newest eatery is an extension of the culinary services for The California Endowment, a private health foundation whose goal is to expand access to affordable healthcare to underserved communities.

Located in the Center for Healthy Communities at 1000 N Alameda Street, Rise Up! Cafe will serve approachable breakfast and lunch fare to the public. Think American classics like pastrami reubens and short rib sloppy joes. The massive operation expects to service upwards of 600 diners a day, in addition to pre-existing catering and a smaller on-site café for the statewide health foundation.

PRG is also partnering with L.A. Kitchen, an organization that both reclaims local food and trains unemployed men and women, to have a five team member as a part of a culinary training program. All in all, sounds like a feel-good initiative to reach out to the community.

Rise Up! Café is open from 7:30 to 10 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
