Time for some more Tsujita expansion, as the ultra-popular ramen operators plan to bring Chinese dan dan noodles to Sawtelle Japantown. The name of the restaurant will be Killer Noodle, and judging by the red-stained broth found in the company photos it’s best to believe their stuff could be rather spicy.

Killer Noodle will take over for the (now former) Ohana Burger, which faded away slowly after losing its backing from the original Las Vegas owners. It’s prime real estate on the main Sawtelle Japantown drag, and sits just doors down from Tsujita and Tsujita Annex (and Sushi Tsujita, their high end omakase spot). Build-out is currently underway, with a projected opening in September.

Eater reached out to the Tsujita team to get more info on the food and was told only so far that (obviously) dan dan noodles are the focus. They’ll either be served straight up, or with a spicy broth. Hours are still undecided, but it’s likely that a late night focus could be a part of the experience when Killer Noodle officially opens. Until then, noodle-lovers will have to satisfy themselves with any of the other Tsujita properties on the same block, or the busy new outlet at the Americana at Brand in Glendale.
