Publiqué, a new concept by the team behind Zinqué, will take over the former Border Grill space in Santa Monica. Roving westside reporter Toddrickallen first caught wind of the restaurant in a design review that was confirmed with the posting of an ABC application in the window.
Zinqué, a breezy all-day eatery with locations in West Hollywood, Venice, and Newport Beach tells Eater that they plan to offer pan-Mediterranean fare with heavy European and North African influence at Publiqué. Like its sister restaurants, the new Santa Monica concept will serve from breakfast through dinner with everything from morning pastries to a full bar.
Also like the Zinqué outposts, known for their bright, naturally lit confines and expansive patios, Publiqué will open up the former Border Grill by turning the front dining room into an open-air patio. It’s a welcome addition to this section of Downtown Santa Monica, which has been absent the iconic Border Grill since August 2016.
