Tonight marks the first evening of service for Posto Giusto, a casual Eagle Rock Italian outfit that for a time was thinking of opening under the name Mia Sofia. The restaurant comes to life from the team behind Blair’s in Silver Lake, including Marshall Blair and chef Christopher Washburn, and lands inside a tall, open space along Colorado Boulevard.

Posto Giusto is not quite fast casual, not quite sit-down service, but could be just right for the Eastside suburb. The former Halong Bay Vietnamese restaurant has been completely scraped back to its roots, from the brushed cement floor to the open brick walls to heavy beams overhead. Large windows pull up to expose the outdoors, and soon patio seating could be coming to the sidewalk out front.

We're open today at 530!!! The neighborhood kids have decided the name is now Posto Giusto!

In the meantime there’s room for fifty or so indoors, under dim lights wrapped inside woven baskets. The back bar offers beer and wine, while the menu is a tight collection of things like pastas and meatballs and sides, mostly. Offered hours are for dinner only to start, beginning at 5:30pm tonight.
