It’s a good time for glamorous dining in Downtown Los Angeles, with today’s reveal of the sky-high La Boucherie on 71. Located inside the InterContinental Hotel in Downtown, part of the massive Wilshire Grand property (now the tallest building west of the Mississippi), La Boucherie is a four-corner evening overlook with endless LA views.

Parallels will inevitably be drawn between La Boucherie and nearby 71Above at the US Bank Tower, but in truth both provide largely different experiences. For starters, the InterContinental property feels more traditional as a space, despite its elevated landscape. Tall, flat windows look out over much of the city, while the interior seating allows for group dining and less of a date night feel. There’s a big blocky wooden table for group dining, while glassed-in portions of the kitchen turn the focus inward.

Instead of offering a tasting menu, La Boucherie will be a French-focused a la carte experience filled with steaks, seafood, and loads of charcuterie and cheese (the full menu is below). An expansive wine list rounds out the experience from inside. La Boucherie on 71 is officially open as of last Friday, keeping hours Wednesday through Sunday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
