Downtown LA’s 18 Social Lounge Scores Some Serious Skyline

An elevated experience arrives at Hotel Indigo

Downtown has earned yet another hotel bar and restaurant to fawn over. This time it’s 18 Social, opening up June 30 inside Hotel Indigo, which is part of the larger Metropolis mixed use mega-project.

Much like The Exchange and Rudolph’s Bar & Tea inside The Freehand, 18 Social is meant to be an evening gathering place for nearby locals, hotel guests, and everyone in between. The elevated, open restaurant space provides sunny views of the city beyond, with a plush and gilded vibe inside. There’s carpet everywhere, tall ceilings (and equally large windows), a central fireplace, and low tables that make for segmented lounge seating at the edges of the room.

All told Hirsch Bedner Associates-designed 18 Social fits 110 diners at a clip across some 6,300 square feet. There will be weekend DJs, loads of cocktails like a pineapple mule and classic Aperol spritz, plus small bar bites to tide over anyone who’s hungry. The full opening menu is below. Hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., with dinner served until midnight.
