Good news for noodle fans along Sunset Boulevard, as Silverlake Ramen is looking to expand from their already-busy perch with a new takeout branch in nearby Echo Park. Called, simply enough, Silverlake Ramen 2 Go, the shop takes over for the former Miyako Japanese restaurant at Sunset and Rosemont,

Though Silverlake Ramen 2 Go isn’t officially up and running yet, owner Jitaek Lim says the place should be operational by the end of this month. Much like their aforementioned predecessor, this strip mall space will focus on the company’s brand of rich ramen bowls and sides.

There will be some seating inside (only about 10 tables), but mostly the new nearby location will act as a way to take the burden off of the original. Guests will be able to order in advance and actually have their meals delivered right out to their car when they pull into the parking lot.

Lim and company are looking to land before the end of June, ideally, though final inspections are still taking place with the city. The jump to add a second location so close by the original does make sense for them though, given how enduringly popular Silverlake Ramen remains. Even their York Boulevard offshoot does well, and with new Osen Izakaya coming along quick in Silver Lake, there’s likely going to be even more quality Japanese food competition out that way soon.
