Echo Park pizza newcomer Cosa Buona is open for lunch as of today. The casual Italian-American joint from chef Zach Pollack has been humming along nicely during dinner for the better part of two weeks now, but is looking to expand their enterprise with a new slate of daytime customers.

Much like its evening offerings, Cosa Buona’s midday menu is a collection of salads, sides, and ridealong dishes that all more or less circle around the restaurant’s pizzas. Sure, one can build a meal on just chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, and salads, but it’s a good idea (especially if dining for the first time) to give those pies a shot. The menu also includes a helpful collection of sandwiches, including meatball/chicken/eggplant parm, respectively, as well as “The Stepmother”, a classic Italian option with a nomenclature nod to the classic Godmother from Bay Cities.

Weekday only hours for lunch run 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (closed Tuesdays), with the option for takeout. Eventually Cosa Buona will also add delivery to boot; the full opening lunch menu is below.
