That leaves some seriously prime real estate wide open

Just over one year after opening, Parisian import Le Relais de l’Entrecôte has closed in West Hollywood. Yelp reviews report the restaurant being closed as of June 24, and a call to the restaurant reveals a disconnected phone line. The website has also been taken down.

It was a big day for francophiles when the restaurant with locations in Paris and Geneva broke ground on the ritzy stretch of Melrose, after years of speculation at the address. The expansive eatery just a short walk from celebrity hot spots Craig’s and Cecconi’s opened to lines of diners eager to try the restaurant’s signature steak frites dressed in a secret green sauce, but the charm must have worn off soon after.

Sadly, reports of inexcusable service and tapering enthusiasm for the steak frites-only menu offer a glimpse into why it may not have been able to hold on. That does leaves some choice real estate up for grabs, however, with West Hollywood a hotter dining ‘hood than perhaps ever before. Know what’s heading in the space? Be sure to hit the tipline.
