Larchmont’s former Pinches Tacos has been completely overhauled, turning from a standing-room-only storefront corridor into a colorful new outlet of Tacos Tu Madre. The restaurant, situated right on the main Larchmont drag near the farmers market, Go Get Em Tiger, and Village Pizzeria, opens today.

Tacos Tu Madre is the work of Joshua Pourgol, who also operates several Bardonna locations across the city (including one just doors down in Larchmont). The colorful shops offer a rotating menu of non-traditional tacos and breakfast burritos (fried chicken burrito for breakfast, anyone), usually from small square-footprint spaces in dense parts of the city like Los Feliz and Westwood.

This latest iteration is mostly meant as a takeout operation, with guests ordering from a big glass window in the front. There is of course the option of dining inside but given the sometimes troublesome limitations Larchmont puts on restaurant seating, there’s a bit of a grey area here. Regardless, customers can order to go up front, or wait for their name to be called inside before chowing down near the living green wall in the back. And, of course, there’s hip neon signage to boot.

Tacos Tu Madre Larchmont opens today for service. The restaurant space was designed by Chris Schelhorn and Nic Albritton, and will keep daily hours from 9 a.m. to midnight moving forward. The full opening menu is below.
