If there’s been a more talked-about restaurant opening this year, there probably isn’t one that surpasses Vespertine. It’s the talk of the town right now, and around food media circles across the country. Founded by Jordan Kahn, whose daytime restaurant Destroyer sits across the street in Culver City’s Hayden Tract, this divisive restaurant has already been reviewed by The Hollywood Reporter, a critique from its fourth night of service. The tasting menu costs $250 a person, not including any drinks, making it one of the most expensive experiences in Los Angeles. And it’s all built into an iconic architectural landmark previously called The Waffle, and designed by Eric Owen Moss.
