Los Feliz legend Yuca’s didn’t stay down for long, nabbing a quiet new walk-up stand in Pasadena just a few short months after being unceremoniously booted from their Hollywood location. Now they’re officially up and running, doing daytime hours for anyone who happens to notice.

It’s not easy to see the Yuca’s change-over in Pasadena at first. The Herrera family behind the restaurant has taken over a now-defunct shack called Gerlach’s Pasadena Grille, and most of the original signage is still up (and just about the only thing visible from the street). The stall itself is attached to a liquor store, further complicating things, but a Yuca’s poster in the window and some key flyers being handed out to neighbors is changing the tide, slowly. And, thankfully, the menu is still the same as ever.

Right now, Yuca’s Pasadena has been open for just under two weeks, and they’ve pulled staff from the original location on Hillhurst to help with the hand-off. Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and they accept credit cards too. As for the Hollywood outlet that no longer bears the Yuca’s name, still no word on what’s to come.
