Brentwood is in for a sweet surprise with the upcoming arrival of a Winston Pies. Former home baker Brianna Abrams has been making pies under the name Buttercrust for years — though just for direct sale and catering — and is now jumping in with both feet to flip a storefront along San Vicente Boulevard.

The upcoming Winston Pies will actually occupy what was once a thriving outlet of The Market at M Cafe. That space closed back in June, and now Abrams is ready to roll with a debut sometime later this year. Look for the space to be touched off with lots of Southern charm, including (apparently) a functional porch swing inside.

Abrams was for years a lawyer by trade, but is now making the turn to Winston Pies a full-time affair. With Winston, Abrams will still sell pies online and do some catering ordering for those who request it, but all with the addition of a consumer-facing storefront to sell full pies, slices, mini-pies, and a variety of hand pies.

With Eagle Rock’s KnowRealityPie doing big things on the Eastside, Nicole Rucker landing along La Brea later this year, and the fine folks at Friends & Family baking away in East Hollywood, there’s suddenly never been a better time to be on the lookout for pie. Expect opening hours for Winston Pies from early morning to evening.
