Sweetgreen’s Fresh Salad Vibes Invade Downtown LA Starting Today

Makes complete sense for the salad chain to open in the central business area

Sweetgreen, Downtown LA

At last, national salad chain Sweetgreen has finally opened its first location in Downtown Los Angeles. It seems only natural that the healthy lunch concept break ground in the neighborhood with the highest concentration of the office working set, given the brand’s enormous success in D.C., New York City, and beyond.

Located in the The CalEdison DTLA, the 1,700 square foot Downtown location should be a great asset to 5th and Grand when it opens today, with its open kitchen, communal bleachers, and outdoor seating. Along with its bacon and Sriracha-free menu of healthy, cult-favorite salads, the seasonal summer menu will feature a Mexican corn elote bowl, spring chicken, and Thai watermelon.

As for design, the Downtown location follows the brand’s initiative to support local artists, working with a LA-based art collective to support local emerging artists to decorate the sleek, light-filled space.

The fast casual concept has quickly expanded its empire in Los Angeles, even moving its headquarters from D.C. to Culver City just last year. Sweetgreen has additional locations in West 3rd, Hollywood, Santa Monica, and Brentwood.
