Fairfax slice operator Prime Pizza is expanding, jumping into a second location in Downtown’s Little Tokyo neighborhood. The move will not only expand the reach of Prime, but it will also offer some larger square footage for the team to grow its menu offerings and seating.

The new Prime Pizza lands along S. Central Avenue in the former Japanese Robata Kaba space, right across the street from Shin-Sen-Gumi. There’s roughly 1,450 square feet of space to play with (as opposed to Fairfax’s cozy 900 square feet), meaning the Golden State team behind Prime Pizza will look to offer more indoor seating for customers, as well as some spots out on the sidewalk patio. Delivery will of course also be available.

What’s more, co-owner Zak Fishman says the Prime Pizza menu will expand beyond just slices and full pizzas. Those will stay, along with Noah Galuten’s rotating specials, but the daily offerings will grow to also involve a meatball sub, caesar salad, and more. Diners will also still be able to step in for a slice any time, including late night. No beer and wine to start, but look for that to change down the line.

Things are moving fast at Prime Pizza in Little Tokyo, so look for an opening either late next month or by early October.
