But it’s not at the iconic location

Los Angeles food icon Randy’s Donuts is doing a massive giveaway today, handing out 1,000 free doughnuts to anyone who happens to ask. There’s only one catch: It’s not going down in Inglewood.

No, this giveaway is happening at the new Randy’s Donuts, a small stand tucked into the still under-construction Westfield Century City. The launch of a satellite Randy’s — miles from the iconic home of the LAX-adjacent shop, with its looming round doughnut visible from the air — was first announced back in April, and since then Westfield and the Randy’s team have been hard at work to bring the stall to life.

Now the place is rolling right along, it seems, with a tipster saying yesterday that Randy’s was offering on-the-house doughnuts to anyone who sauntered past. An email in to Westfield confirms the giveaway, with the added news that the stand would be ‘officially’ opening for business on Thursday or Friday of this week. Until then, the freebies continue to the tune of 1,000 doughnuts per day.
