Tucked into the late-day shadow of the Capitol Records building in Hollywood is the Kimpton Everly Hotel, a sunny newcomer aiming for relevance in the white-hot LA tourist market. Jane Q and Ever Bar, a complementary all-day restaurant and upstairs bar, respectively, that works for travelers and locals alike, will both open tomorrow, August 3.
Up first is Jane Q, a tall, sunny lobby level space that will serve as the hotel’s primary gathering point. That means it works breakfast through dinner daily, serving everything from grab-and-go pastries and steel cut oats to BLTs made with pickled green onions and a fried egg. Casual lunch and dinner options under chef Bryan Podgorski range from a shrimp and sausage polenta skillet to a black truffle calzone, with some game hen and crispy kale to match. Hours run 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
And then there is Ever Bar, with its 28-foot ceilings and midcentury modern appeal. The open lounge area is filled with leather chairs, tall stools at a 12-seat bar run, and a big new pool table. There’s even a separate three-quarter wrap seating area for groups to congregate, all while enjoying the views of Hollywood beyond.
The bar keeps things cool with a collection of popular classic cocktails — everything from a rusty nail to a cosmopolitan to a sex on the beach, naturally — as well as newer, more intriguing stuff. There’s a decent wines by the glass list too, plus craft beer galore. As for food, expect bar bites from chef de cuisine Jason T. Hall, including poke tacos and late night pretzels for soaking up the excess. Hours for Ever Bar run 3 p.m. to midnight most nights, with an extension to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. The opening menu is below.
