Venice’s most photogenic intersection is getting an upgrade, with the arrival of a casual all-day newcomer known as Great White. The restaurant takes over where vegan restaurant Seed left off at Pacific and Windward, practically underneath the Venice sign.
There isn’t much intel on Great White at the moment other than the primary players. It’s likely the restaurant will bring even more casual California cool to the area, with a menu that plays the hits: eggs in the morning, salads, sandwiches, and the like. Still, that’s all subject to change until a menu reveals itself. One hint could come from chef Alex Thomopoulos, a private chef with a YouTube cooking show and a streak for clean eating (think juices and gluten-free options galore).
Owners Sam Trude and Sam Cooper say Great White should be ready to roll post-Labor Day. The fast casual restaurant will start off doing breakfast and lunch only, with plans to expand into dinner once they acquire a beer and wine license.
