There’s a Secret New Hot Chicken Sandwich Pop-Up Happening in Hollywood

McFly’s All-Natural is the work of one very well-known chef

The hottest Hollywood lunch option around has to be McFly’s All-Natural, a new weekly pop-up happening inside the Electric Owl space. McFly’s has been quietly serving for a little while, first as a one-off event and now with regular hours from Wednesday through Sunday.

McFly’s All-Natural, like Electric Owl, is the work of former Plan Check and Umami chef Ernesto Uchimura. That means anyone rightfully obsessed with Uchimura’s existing fried chicken recipe from Plan Check should consider making the daytime trek to the western edges of Hollywood for what should be a pretty similar proposition — just with a bunch more spice.

What’s more, the McFly’s limited menu also includes loaded tater tots and extras like chocolate chip cookies. Tots can come topped with cheese, ranch, hot sauce, or other specials as the menu allows, while a variety of sandwiches (some hot, some not) are also on offer for $11. A menu reveal can be seen below.

The move to make McFly’s All-Natural a recurring part of the daytime situation at Electric Owl speaks to just how popular both Nashville-style hot chicken and fried chicken sandwiches have become. Even low key hot chicken parking lot pop-up Dave’s Hot Chicken wizened up a while ago and added ‘sliders,’ which are just chicken strips sandwiched between small buns with some sauce and slaw.
