West Hollywood Adds More Hotel Dining Firepower Thanks to Casey Lane

The popular chef is building a hotel dining empire, apparently

The hottest fall dining trend may well be hotel restaurants, as evidenced by the wealth of stay-and-eat options around the city. Next up is Viale dei Romani, an Italian newcomer landing at the new La Peer Hotel in West Hollywood later this year.

Viale dei Romani fulfills that other basic dining trend: Italian food. The restaurant is meant to be a pretty straightforward trattoria, offering pastas (not the ones shipped here from Italy though), a lot of seafood, and tons of produce. They’ll have a wood-fired oven as well, though no word on whether or not that means pizza. The chef behind the project is none other than Casey Lane, who has been developing a new passion for getting hotel restaurants off the ground — particularly at the soon-to-open Hotel Figueroa in Downtown. The former Portland chef also runs the kitchen at The Tasting Kitchen in Venice.

The La Peer Hotel should make for a rather beautiful backdrop when all is said and done. The Kimpton property tilts towards the luxury end of the spectrum, with 105 fully-kitted rooms that will offer everything from personalized yoga sessions to in-room cocktails and actual butler service.

Word is that Casey Lane’s Viale dei Romani should be ready to open by late October. The hotel will likely have some other slightly more casual dining option available for breakfast and takeaway coffee and the like, but those details are still to come.
