Sweetfin Rides a Poke Wave Into Sunny Silver Lake Today

The ever-expanding raw fish shop lights up a new location

One seafood restaurant’s loss is another’s gain, as Sweetfin Poke opens today along Sunset Boulevard in the former Knuckle & Claw space. The new Silver Lake outlet pushes the number of Sweetfin locations to six, with another slated for Downtown soon enough.

It’s been a quick turnaround of the former lobster roll shop, which shuttered at the beginning of the year. Now chef Dakota Weiss is on site, working a retro-chic interior to go along with the restaurant’s usual brand of DIY poke bowls and sides. Add in a patio on two sides and neighbors like FrankieLucy Bakeshop and the soon-to-come Smitten Ice Cream, and suddenly that long stretch of Silver Lake feels revitalized once again.

Sweetfin Poke Silver Lake opens today, keeping daily hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. There’s no alcohol yet at this location, but booze will becoming down the line soon too. Meanwhile, the West Third location starts serving drinks next week.
