One of LA’s most classic restaurants, Pacific Dining Car, is offering a sweet deal for diners for the rest of the summer: a free baseball steak. Seriously. There are a few caveats, but they don’t cost any money. First, sign up on the restaurant’s website using a name and email address, then supply a birthday and book a reservation to dine at either their Santa Monica or Downtown locations. Once the process is finished, an email will confirm if one is eligible for the promotion.
The deal is part of an effort to show off PDC’s updated menu, and even the signature baseball steak has been redone. The 10 oz. dry-aged top sirloin cut now comes with a sliver of bone marrow, sprig of rosemary, and head of roasted garlic. It’s unclear when the promotion will end, but the website says the special lasts throughout the summer.
Another interesting development at Pacific Dining Car: the late night menu now commences at 10 p.m. versus 11 p.m., opening up a more affordable slate of dishes like eggs benedict and the PDC burger, plus a nearly half-priced baseball steak at just $23.95. For night owls and post-club diners, it’s a fancy place to wind down. The baseball steak was immortalized in the film Training Day with Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke.
