Taix Offers a 90 Cent Roast Chicken Dinner Special to Celebrate Anniversary

Only on October 8

Legendary French restaurant Taix will celebrate its 90th anniversary by offering full roast chicken dinners for 90 cents. On Sunday, October 8 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., diners can take advantage of a set menu that includes soup de jour, salad, and the Taix roast chicken with au jus all for under a buck.

The special harkens back to 1927, when Marcius Taix Jr. first introduced the French country dish at the restaurant’s original Downtown location. At the time the meal was sold for 50 cents when eaten at communal tables, and 75 cents at a private booth.

Nearly a century later, Echo Park hipsters and loyal patrons can get a similar deal for one night only. Reservations will not be accepted, and the restaurant does expect a line around the block, so plan to arrive early for one of the year’s best specials.
