Esters Wine Shop is launching a new guest chef burger series, kicking off Tuesday, September 26. Back in July, Rustic Canyon restaurant group’s wine bar commenced a Tuesday burger night, first with a monthly offering by the restaurant’s chef de cuisine before Rustic Canyon chef Jeremy Fox himself stepped in with his own version.
Now on select Tuesdays, some of the city’s best burgers will be making an appearance at the Santa Monica eatery, kicking off on September 26 with chef Michael Fiorelli’s cult-favorite Downlow Burger that first debut at Terranea’s mar’sel before showing up on Love & Salt’s brunch menu.
Look out for Bryant Ng of neighboring Cassia to pop up on November 14 with a pastrami burger. However, the real treat for burger aficionados will be Evan Funke’s signature burger showing up on January 9. The Rustic Canyon executive chef from 2008 to 2012 was known for his take on the American classic. At Esters, his special will be built with two Black Angus patties, Tillamook cheddar, dill pickles, herb remoulade, onion fondue, and wild arugula on a potato bun.
The monthly guest chef burger series kicks off at 6 p.m., with burgers sold for $19 until they run out. Check the restaurant’s calendar for all upcoming events in the series.
