Killer Noodle is the latest installment from the Tsujita LA Artisan Noodle team. LA’s best ramen purveyor, with locations in Sawtelle and one shiny spot inside the Americana at Brand in Glendale has a totally different restaurant in the works at the former Ohana Burger space.
According to Killer Noodle’s Facebook page, the opening is slated October 16, and the spotlight is on authentic dan dan noodles in broth. Just yesterday, crews were still working on finishing up the interior build out. Only a short walk from Tsujita, Tsujita Annex, and the high-end Sushi Tsujita, Killer Noodle looks to bring something completely different to Sawtelle’s constantly busy restaurant situation.
Originating from China, dan dan is typically filled with preserved vegetables, chili oil, Sichuan pepper, minced pork, scallions, and served over noodles. The Japanese are dan dan-obsessed too, with tantan-men shops part of a trend storming through Japan. Considering how the Tsujita team has some of the best regarded tsukemen and ramen in the city, the prospect is high for some very distinctive noodles and flavorful broth.
