Santa Monica’s next taco project

The former Tacos Punta Cabras (now just shortened to Punta Cabras) is coming along nicely, at least according to the company’s official Facebook page. Windows are still wrapped up with a coming soon look, and the plan is to open before the end of the first quarter in 2018.

That said, this Santa Monica newcomer should look and feel a good bit different than the previous iteration up the street. Punta Cabras will still offer tacos, but also has room for way more seats, a freshened up aesthetic, a wider menu with full entree options, and a bar. Expect an opening sometime in March.

All night at Canter’s

Canter’s Deli is a Los Angeles classic, with 24-hour service and that famously well-lit ceiling. But what’s it like at 4:30 a.m.? One TimeOut writer decided to find out.

Making waves behind the scenes

Natasha Phan doesn’t often get a ton of localized credit, but as the operations and creative mind behind much of what Roy Choi does, she certainly deserves it. Now she’s been recognized by Create & Cultivate for her efforts.

Get to know the man behind this WeHo hotspot

Louis Tikaram of EP & LP sat down with Visit West Hollywood for a question and answer session on a variety of topics, from his favorite dishes on the menu to his decision to land in Weho at all.

Closures in Orange County

The OC Register notes a temporary closure for Dog Haus at MainPlace, which was reportedly vandalized several days ago. There are plans to reopen however, while throwback candy shop Powell’s Sweet Shoppes in Laguna Niguel is closing completely after ten years in business.
